Tour Description
How a Must-See Savannah Tour Differs
On a Must-See tour of Savannah’s Historic District, we will take the quieter side streets and stop often to take in the views, marvel at and photograph the amazing architectural treasures, and immerse ourselves in a beautiful urban forest, all while discovering our amazing history. We will see the well-known and must-sees on the main thoroughfares, but also the lesser-known or -seen gems along the way missed by other tours.
Our sight-seeing tours cover an area from Forsyth Park to several of our famous squares, exploring the world-renowned Oglethorpe Plan of Savannah that dates back to our founding, with its pedestrian- (and bike!) friendly design of regularly-placed public squares. We cover, in all, about 2 miles of flat, easy terrain.
Bring your camera for countless photo opportunities, including portraits with your friends and family against some rather awesome backdrops! You also get a “strolling or rolling concierge” to point out the plentiful eateries, pubs, and unique mom-and-pop shops where the locals go to explore after the tour.

Tour Reservations
Reservations are necessary, and advance reservations strongly recommended, as tours often sell out in busy times, and group size is limited for quality and safety.
To check availability for a tour, click on “Book Now”, and you will see if a tour is sold out or still has spaces for your party. You do not have to commit to booking just to check availability.
If you want to take a chance and show up, walk-ins are welcome on the walking tour with on-time arrival if space is available on an outgoing tour.
Tour Preparations Things to Know Ahead of Time
Where to Meet
Meet in Forsyth Park at the corner of Gaston and Whitaker Streets. See the map.
No restrooms at meeting site—please plan accordingly! There are public restrooms in another part of Forsyth Park if you need to visit before your tour begins.
What to Bring
A camera is a must-have!
A bottle of water, especially during summer
Snacks if desired
Umbrella if skies look iffy
A good disposition. Often overlooked, but what a difference a smile and a sunny mood makes, not only for you and your guide, but for the others on tour.
What to Wear
Rain - Savannah's weather can change in an instant, so watch the forecast and wear appropriate rainwear if necessary. Shelter is also available along the route if heavy rain occurs. If unsure whether a tour will go out in iffy weather, feel free to call for a confirmation.
Heat or Cold - Shorts and short-sleeves are the usual Savannah garb. Flip-flops/sandals are fine, but laced shoes are always best. Dress in layers in fall and spring. In winter, a coat may be necessary, and a warm hat and/or scarf can be wonderful.
Sun & Swarms - a visor/cap and sunglasses are handy, as well as insect repellant in warmer months. Some folks apply or bring sunscreen.
Where to Park
We recommend walking (or biking) to the meeting spot if staying downtown. For those driving in, there is plenty of free, on-street parking in the Victorian District neighborhood south of Gaston Street, flanking Forsyth Park on the west and east. These nearest side streets with free parking include Huntingdon, Hall, Gwinnett, Bolton, and Waldburg. North of Gaston Street, parking is available as well in numbered spots at a cost of $1-$2 per hour M-Sat (FREE on Sundays.) Remember your parking space number to enter at the payment kiosk nearby, which takes credit/debit cards. Visit the City’s Parking website for more info.
What Is Not Included
Gratuity for your guide is not included in the price, but tips are greatly appreciated for a job well done!
Tour Safety
Safety is paramount, and your guide is well-versed in how to navigate the sometimes-congested sidewalks and streets of Savannah's Historic District to make our experience as pleasant and carefree as possible. Also, there will be plenty of park benches for resting if taking the walking tour.
